Virgin media announced a new music deal yesterday that will allow users to stream all the music they want and download it to keep for one price. Virgin media has a deal in place already with Universal Music to offer its content to users.

The music will be available in DRM free formats that will work with iPods and other music devices. The service is hailed as the future of digital music, but some think otherwise.

For the service to succeed it needs more music labels than Universal alone. The recession will also make the service less popular and there are already similar services offered. The Virgin media service is rumored to cost around £14.95 and an exact launch date is unknown.
