The iPhone 3.0 OS update launched yesterday and some users are reporting problems with the update. Several users are reporting that the new MMS picture messaging service is not working correctly on their devices. Other users have reported problems making calls after updating.

Some reports claim that the Apple servers were overloaded by the number of people downloading the update resulting in error messages saying, “The iPhone activation server is temporarily unavailable”.

One user reported that those having a hard time reaching the activation server could disconnect from the internet while the software extracted to get it to install. Expects are blaming the surge of downloads for the server issues and Apple has offered no official comment.
