Acer Unveils New Aspire Notebooks

Acer has announced a couple of new notebooks aimed at the user wanting a notebook at a low price. The new machines are the Aspire AS5536 and the Aspire AS7735Z. Both notebooks use LED backlit screens and offer 16:9 aspect ratio along with multitouch track pads.

The 5536 starts at $479.99 has a 15.6-inch screen and uses an AMD Athlon 64X2 QL-64 dual-core processor at 2.1GHz. Other specifications include 3GB of RAM, ATI HD 3200 graphics, 320GB of storage, and an integrated 8x DVD burner.

The 7735Z starts at $599.99 and has a 17.3-inch screen and runs an Intel Pentium T4200 CPU at 2GHz. The notebook has 4GB of RAM, Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics, 250GB of storage, and an 8X DVD burner. A faster AS5739G notebook was announced as well starting at $749.99 with a 15.6-inch screen, Core 2 Duo T6500 CPU, 4GB of RAM, 250GB HDD, and NVIDIA GT130M graphics.
