Retrevo Pulse is a market research firm that follows sales trends for consumer electronics and other gadgets. According to the latest index from the firm camcorders sold in significant numbers during June even though most digital cameras are capable of taking nice photos today.
Camcorder demand grew 20% over a three-month period starting in April. The index also showed that MP3 player sales were down by 30% since the end of February and that TVs have stayed flat since dropping 25$ over the last 120 days.
The demand for GPS devices grew showing that more people are taking to the highways this summer rather than flying. Portable DVD players are down 20% since March, so I guess most kids traveling have to miss movie watching.
