The drama that surrounded talks between Microsoft and Yahoo has finally ended after the two search giants finally came to an agreement on a partnership in search. The two firms are expected to make an official announcement today.

The deal is going to see Microsoft powering all searches through its search engine with Bing and Yahoo taking a management roll for advertising services. The partnership is intended to fight Google's dominance in search.

The deal comes after close to a year since Yahoo rejected Microsoft's takeover bid. That rejection ultimately cost Jerry Yang his post as CEO of Yahoo.
