Nintendo seems to have hit the end of the unparalled sales run of the Wii console. The weak Wii sales in the last quarter is apparently responsible for a 60% decline in net profits compared to the same period last year.

Nintendo said it sold 2.23 million Wii consoles in the last quarter, less than half the 5.17 million it sold in the same period in 2008.
Of course Nintendo is still in the lead in terms of console and game sales keeping Sony and Microsoft at a safe distance.

Still, Nintendo needs some new must have games for the Wii to get sales up again for the Holidays.
