Back in April we reported about Netflix delivering its movie streaming service on the Nintendo Wii and the Sony PS3. Now a new rumor says that Netflix also wants to offer its video streaming service on the Apple iPhone.
According to AppleInsider, a trade journal called MultiChannel News says that a source told them about Netflix' plans to expand to iPhone, iPod touch and also the Wii gets mentioned.
Will Apple allow a movie streaming service next to its iTunes offering on the iPhone? Well, maybe now that the FCC is on alert anything is possible. If the iPhone install base continues to grow it is becoming a quasi standard platform that will only grow further if it is open to competing service as well.
