Microsoft's Chris Lewis says that any PS3 price cut won't affect the software giant's Xbox plans. Rumors persist that Sony will be unveiling a new PS3 slim at Gamescon and that the console will be getting a price cut.

Of course, Sony still denies any price cuts are coming and is only now making a small profit from its PS3 consoles. It really makes little sense to cut the price on something that would result in a loss for each sale in the face of the massive loss Sony reported last quarter.

Microsoft is also rumored to be readying a price cut of its own on its game console. The Xbox Elite is said to be dropping to £169.99 with the Xbox 360 Pro being discontinued.
