It appears that the Sony PlayStation Network is down for maintenance during the build up to the anticipated Sony presentation at Gamescon. This is the presentation where price cuts and the new slim PS3 have been rumored.

Over in America a new ad from Kmart has surface touting a new PSN and price cuts. Before you get too excited, the price cuts are reportedly only on the outgoing PS3 models while supplies last.

The new PS3 Slim, it actually exits, will likely be priced at the same level as the current PS3 console. The Sony PSN being down is undoubtedly to get new features ready that will be announced later today.
