Apple might start shipping OS X Snow Leopard on August 28th. This date appears on an Up-to-Date promotion page on the UK Apple Store according to MacRumors.

Apple already started the pre-order of the Snow Leopard Update a couple weeks ago. You can pre-order Snow Leopard on Amazon.com for $29.
Apple still states a September release date for Snow Leopard. Maybe they will beat that by a couple of days.
