Users of Android phones like the G1 and the myTouch 3G can now get an application that brings next generation mobile TV content to the Android OS. The application is called SPB TV and it is a subscription-free mobile IPTV viewing app. The software is designed to allowed users to tune in publicly available digital TV signals.

The app has features like picture-in-picture mode and allows mobile subscribers to access international TV channels directly from the phone. The latest android version means that the software is now available for the android platform along with Windows Mobile and Symbian.

Other features of the software include a TV browser with preview, full week integrated TV guide, the ability to set calendar reminders for shows you want to watch. The software also supports hardware buttons fully and has on-screen controls. The app costs $9.95 for Android.
