Microsoft cut the price of the Xbox 360 Elite late last month to compete against the new lower price PS3 Slim that was debuted by Sony. The Elite now sells for 199 GBP compared to the 250GBP is retailed for before.

Microsoft made a wise move on the price cut and according to industry sources, sales are booming for the Elite after the price cut. Sales of the Elite are said to be up 43% from pre price cut levels.

"Sales of Xbox 360 are up 43 percent," GfK Chart-Track revealed told GI.biz. "Essentially, looking at the price, obviously it's the Elite that's done the business with those sales."
