The BBC is tickled with how well its latest version of the iPlayer is doing on the PS3. According to figures released by BBC, the PS3 accounts for 10% of the iPlayer audience. I wonder how much of that is due to the cheaper PS3 hitting the market and more people actually using the console.

The PS3 now has a larger iPlayer market than Mac computers. The Mac accounts for 8.5% of the iPlayer user base. A full 70% of the traffic to iPlayer use PCs to access the content.

BBC has also unveiled that third parties have approached it to use iPlayer for their TV shows. That would mean at some point other channels may be available on the iPlayer.
