Need for Speed Shift is the latest game title that will be added to the Need for Speed franchise. The new game is still a bit off before it hits store shelves, but the playable demo for the title has at least been given a date.

EA announced that the playable demo would hit the PS3 and Xbox on October 1st for download. The demo will let players experience the game play and precision racing action of the game. The demo will have players trying for different cars on two tracks.

The tracks are Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps and the tight city circuit of London River. Five different cars will be offered in the game with real-world physics and more. The cars include the BMW M3 E46, 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10, 2006 Lotus Elise 111R, 2008 Nissan GT-R, and the 2006 Pagani Zonda F as the unlockable ride.
