LG unveils what the company calls the world's first NAS with a Blu-ray drive.
The LG N2B1D features 2TB of hard-drive disk space and a Blu-ray drive to backup data on Blu-ray discs.
The new LG NAS is geared towards consumers for home use and promises easy handling.
I just recently deployed a Buffalo Terastation NAS with RAID 5 to backup all my home and office PCs and archiving the family photos and music.
There is actually no way around it, you need to have a NAS at home to make sure your digital data survives decades. I really would like to see something simpler than a NAS to do that in the near future. A NAS still needs maintenance in the event a HDD fails.
