Lucky Germans. While we in the US have to look to the HTC Hero or the upcoming Eris for our multitouch Android joy, it looks like German Android fans will get it from the Milestone. The Milestone is just a GSM version of the Motorola Droid. Until today, both phones were thought to be otherwise identical. Now, if this video from Mobile-Review (via Gizmodo) is accurate, it looks like there will be one more difference between the two phones.

Android 2.0 supports multitouch, but for whatever reason the Droid does not. If multitouch will be appearing in the Milestone, there's at least a chance we'll see it patched into the Droid soon after. If that happened, it would give people yet another reason to fall in love with Moto's flagship handset. The Milestone is set to hit stores in Germany on November 9th. We'll know then if these multitouch rumors were true or not. If they are, I expect we'll see a lot of Verizon subscribers complaining to their carrier about the disparity. As well they should.
