The HP Envy 15 is part of HP’s holiday line-up and along with Envy 13 notebook define the new premium laptop offering from HP.
The Envy 15 is equipped with the advanced Intel Core i7-720QM CPU, which enables you to enjoy excellent mobile performance for as demanding tasks as video editing and intense games. It has a 15-inch LCD display that is characterized by 300 nits of display brightness. It weighs 5.18lbs and has an incredible thickness of only 1 inch.

The ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4830 having 1GB of VRAM provides graphics to the Envy 15. The HP Envy 15 gives support to up to 16GB of DDR3 memory and features a built-in DVD burner. The connectivity provided by Envy 15 includes WiFi a/g/n, Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth, HDMI and audio in/out and a 2-in-1 memory card slot. The Envy 15 features a 500GB 7,200rpm drive in the base configuration and three USB 2.0 ports with the third port being a combo eSATA/USB. You can also choose to configure the Envy 15 with 320GB SSD storage, which cost $500 more but is worth it.

The HP Envy 15 comes with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit or Windows 7 Professional Edition. However, you will not have to operate on Windows 7 to get Internet connectivity and media access as HP runs this notebook with HP QuickWeb, which is a Linux shell that has an amazingly fast boot time. This notebook also has a Nightvision VGA webcam and an option for SSD RAID-0. The Envy 15 features metal-etched surface design and fluid controls: a click pad that integrates the button in the touchpad.
The presence of the next generation Intel Core i7-720QM CPU, support for up to 16GB of RAM and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4830 graphics allows you to get better performance from the HP Envy 15 than most other currently available notebooks. And, it accommodates all these features inside a 5.18lbs, 1-inch frame. This notebook also offers high build quality and a pristine, bright widescreen display. However, the Envy 15 lacks an external optical drive and because of its relatively large size, the portability is comparatively limited. Also, the non-switchable discreet graphics deprives you of the chance to get significant longevity from the Envy 15.
