The parade of USB 3.0 hotness continues. Genesys has just sent out a press release confirming that they will be in attendance at CES 2010 with two new USB 3.0 devices. CES 2010 will be our first chance to look at both the GL3310 SATA Bridge controller and the GL3520 Hub Controller. The GL3310 is a 3 Gb/s bridge controller that includes both a USB 3.0 SuperSpeed transmitter/receiver physical layer (PHY), a USB 2.0 High-Speed PHY, and a Serial ATA PHY. In addition to being compatible with multiple different USB hosts and SATA devices, the GL3310 packs two SPI interfaces, PWM controls, watchdog timers, and an UART monitoring interface.Next up, the GL3520 is a hub controller which uses a Genesys-designed USB 3.0 PHY and supports SuperSpeed, Hi-Speed, and Full-Speed/Low-Speed USB connections. It is fully backwards compatible and is billed as having a low rate of power consumption.
