YouTube is the most popular online destination for watching video online. The company is reportedly considering adding a subscription service to its offering that would require a monthly fee to use.

The subscription service would allow watchers to view new TV shows and movies online according to a Google executive quoted by Guardian. Some stations like Channel 4 and Channel 5 have already made deals to get their programs online.

The paid subscription method is an idea being tossed around at Google to get more studios to sign up to deliver content. Many of the studios today are afraid that their content will be stolen if placed online. The deal would also help YouTube turn a profit to go along with all the traffic it generates.
