Iomega Announces New ScreenPlay HD Media Players

Getting your HD media and content from your PC to your big screen in the living room is getting easier. Iomega has announced a new line of ScreenPlay HD media players including the high-end ScreenPlay Director.

The Director has 108-p 24 fps capability and up to 1Tb of drive space for file storage. The device supports formats such as H.264, WMV, MKV, MP3, AC3 (Dolby® Digital Encoding), WAV, WMA, MPEG-1, MPEG-2 (AVI/VOB), MPEG-4 (AVI/DiVX /XViD) and JPEG. It also supports the USB WiFi adapter for wireless access.

The wireless adapter is sold separately by will allow wireless streaming to connected devices. The device has a 10/100 interface and HDMI, composite, audio R/L, and component connectivity. The drive is formatted in NTFS by default.
