Acer Debuts 15.6-inch Aspire 5740 Notebook

Acer has already unveiled a new 17-incn laptop at CES and it is now debuting a new 15.6-inch notebook as well called the Acer Aspire 5740. The 15.6-inch machine gets power from an Intel Core i5-430M CPU running at 2.26 GHz. The machine will run Windows 7 Home Premium and has 4GB of RAM.

The screen has an aspect ratio of 16:9 and a resolution of 1366 x 768 and is LED backlit. Graphics are handled by an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 with 1GB of VRAM. Storage is to a 500GB SATA HDD and the machine has a built-in DVD burner.

Other features include 802.11b/g/n WiFi, an integrated webcam, multi gesture track pad, 5.1 surround sound output, and a 6-cell battery good for up to four hours of run time. The machine will weigh 6.16 pounds and will cost $749.99 when it ships on January 17.
