At CES 2010 Panasonic announced the imminent launch of two new expansions to their SDXC memory card line. Starting February 2010, Panasonic's 64 GB and 48 GB SDXC cards will be available for purchase worldwide. The RP-SDW64GE1K (64 GB) and RP-SDW48GE1K (48 GB) both meet Class 10 speed specifications (whatever that means) and feature a Super Intelligent Controller to make the card more reliable. These memory cards will not come cheap. $599 for the 64 GB one and $450 for the 48 GB one. For that kind of money, your memory cards may very well end up being more expensive than your camera. The 64 GB SDXC card is good for about 8.5 hours of video (27 hours for 1080i) while the 48 GB card is capable of about 6.5 hours of HD video and 20 hours of 1080i.
