The North American International Auto show is underway in Detroit and there are some cool cars being shown at the show.GMC has unveiled a new concept called the Granite that looks pretty cool. It reminds me a bit of the Nissan cube, but in a much (much) better looking package.

The Granite has a block shape and uses nubuck material on the seats and instruments. The center console has storage and connection ports and the gearshift knob rotates. The engine is a 1.4L turbo four with a 6-speed auto trans. The turbo 4-cylinder puts out 140 hp and the car is good for 27 mpg in the city and 33 on the highway.

The car rides on 20-inch wheels and has pillarless doors for easy access. The doors appear to open forward in the front and the rear doors open backwards like old school suicide doors. The Granite will carry five passengers and the passenger seats flip up and fold toward the center console making enough space to store a mountain bike.
