I have seen all sorts of kiosks over the years. The airports have kiosks for buying gadgets and electronic gear like iPods, notebook power supplies, and digital cameras. I have even seen kiosks that sell pizza to people at lunchtime. As strange as those kiosks were, they were nothing like this new kiosk.

A company called Adventure Eye Video Systems has unveiled a new kiosk for the snow industry where skiers and snowboarders can rent helmet cams to record the prowess or embarrassment on the slopes. The kiosks are automated and can be found in resorts in Colorado and on cruise lines and other places.

The kiosks will rent cams for summer sports like scuba diving and surfing too. Exactly how much the cameras will rent for is unknown. Presumably, the prices will depend on the area where the kiosk is located.
