For many people out there the best place to watch the big game is down at their favorite pub. Sky has announced that some pubs will be letting patrons watch the UK's first 3D TV channel with a live Premier League football match to be broadcast.

The game will be shown in nine pubs around the UK this weekend. Starting in April Sky plans to roll the 3D station out to hundreds of other pubs around the UK. Later in 2010, Sky will offer the channel to all Sky+HD customers with a range of content available.

Sky says at first the content will be a free add-on for Sky+HD boxes. To view the 3D content a special set of glasses will be needed. Presumably, a 3D ready TV will be needed as well and there will be lots of them hitting the market this year.
