JVC has announced the addition of a new camcorder to its Everio line called the GZ-HM340. The camera is a full HD unit that records to 16GB of internal flash memory and has an SDHC card slot if you need more recording time.

The camera sports low light recording capability and image stabilization and has an auto recording and time lapse feature. The Advanced Image Stabilization system steadies images at wide setting to 5x optical zoom. The camera has a 20x zoom lens, presumably after 5x the optical stabilizations don't work.

The time-lapse recording feature allows recording in one to 80 second intervals allowing segments lasting hours to be recorded and reduced to seconds. The setting is good to use for home surveillance and more as well. Software is included that makes the video into a format that works for YouTube and playback on iPods. The camera will ship this month for $499.95.
