The 27-inch iMac has had problems with its screens. The screen has a flicker issue for many users that Apple has tried to fix twice. It also has had an issue with iMacs turning up at their destinations with broken screens as well.

Not long ago the big iMac was put on a three week ship delay raising speculation that there were issues holding up builds. Apple is now saying that the reason for the delay in iMac shipments has nothing to do with problems.

According to Apple the machine is simply, so popular it can’t keep up with demand. Apple claims it is working to solve the various issues with the machine including the flicker and yellow tinge on some machines. It's not like Apple would admit if the delay was because of problems though. See also the Apple store.
