If you have your eye on one of the new Apple iPads when they finally ship you might be on the lookout for accessories to keep the thing safe in the event you drop it. A new product called iBallz has been unveiled for protecting the iPad and other devices like the iPhone from drops.

The iBallz system consists of four largish looking foam balls that have slots that let you slip them onto each corner of your device. A drawstring type cord goes around the balls to keep them in place in the event of a drop.

The balls cushion the fall if your gadget slips out of your hands. The only downside I see is that the iBallz system is… umm … ugly. It's probably something that is best used at home. The cords keeping the iBallz on the device can also be held and used to turn the screen when you play games. The iBallz kit comes in different colors and sells for $14.99.
