It is about damn time. Firefox Mobile has taken way too long to launch. It's enough to make me want to bottle Mozilla upside the head. Thankfully, they've done a pretty good job of catching up over the last few months. Firefox Mobile is out for Maemo and the launch of the Android client won't be too far off.

Tech Radar reports that Jay Sullivan, Mozilla VP of mobiles, has informed them that Firefox for Android will be out later in 2010. Jay seems to be a big fan of the Android OS. He called it a “great fit” with Firefox.

With their Android app almost taken care of, Mozilla's thoughts are turning to Windows Mobile. They aren't certain if they should support WinMo 6.5, or go ahead and build their app for 7. WinMo 6.5 may very well end up being skipped over. Sullivan also stated that his company sees the new MeeGo browser as an “exciting opportunity”. Maybe that means it'll get a Firefox app in less than a year.
