I am excited for LTE to come to America. It will be great to get faster mobile broadband speeds, assuming the speed come to my more rural area. Ceva has announced at MWC that Samsung has chosen the Ceva DSP core technology for the first generation commercial LTE modems.

The Ceva DSP Kalmia modem chipset will allow the Samsung modems to offer download speeds of up to 100MBps and upload speeds of up to 50Mbps within the 20Mhz frequency range. Samsung's first product to use the modem tech is available in Sweden and Norway now.

Ceva provides modem solutions to a number of companies other than Samsung as well including ST-Ericsson, Broadcom, Mediatek, and VIA Telecom. There have been over 600 million handsets shipped that use Ceva hardware inside.
