We all knew when Apple finally pulled the wraps off its iPad that the floodgates were open for everyone else to bring their own tablets to market. New tablet systems are hitting the market regularly now and the latest is the iiView Vpad. The Vpad starts at $499.

The device has a 10.2-inch screen and runs an Intel Atom N270 processor at 1.6GHz. The resolution of the touchscreen is 1024 x 600 and it has a 160GB HDD. Model one of the machine also uses 1GB of Ram and has WiFi with a battery good for up to three hours. Model two of the tablet gets 2GB of RAM and a 320GB HDD with the same features as the previous model for $599.

Model three gets 160GB HDD, 1GB of Ram, WiFi, and 3G for $599. Model four gets 320Gb of storage, 2GB of RAM, WiFi, and 3G for $699. All of the models have audio in and out ports, LAN, VGA out, USB, and a card reader. This is a netbook sans keyboard. I think the machines are overpriced, that is iPad money, and most shopping in this market will simply go with Apple.
