It's been a long, winding road, but it looks like the saga of the 27” iMac is coming to an end. Upon launch 16 weeks ago, owners of the new Macs began to notice screen yellowing and discoloration issues. Apple refused to respond to these rumors, stating instead that the delays were due to popularity.

Now, Gizmodo reports that Apple has finally ended their silence and officially addressed the issue. They've released the following statement;

"We've addressed the issues that caused display flickering and yellow tint. Customers concerned that their iMac is affected should contact AppleCare."

It is now, officially, safe to buy a 27” iMac. If yours does end up arriving with a screen issue, you can rest assured that Apple will fix it.
