Wacom has announced a newly redesigned Cintiq 21UX pen-input LCD. The screen is a big 21.3-inch screen with the ability to accept pen input directly on the surface of the screen, Wacom uses its most advanced pen technology on the screen. The new pen has a Tip Sensor that offers lower activation force to recognize subtle differences in pressure.

The new pen design allows the screen to detect 2,048 levels of pressure giving you more control over effects that are pressure sensitive like line weight, opacity, and exposure. The 21UX also has rear mounted touch strips that have toggle buttons letting you have instant control of up to four app specific Touch Strip functions on each Touch Strip.

These can be used for things like brush size, zooming, scrolling, and canvas rotation. The screen has an active area of 17" x 12.75" and has a resolution of 1600 x 1200. The 21UX weighs 22.4 pounds with the stand and can be tilted up to +- 60-degrees. The redesigned 21UX will ship in April for $1999.
