Every time I review a notebook I come away feeling like most makers simply toss the cheapest speakers they can find into the machine just to give users sound. The sound systems lack bass and generally just plain sound bad lots of the time. This fact leaves most notebook and desktop computer users on the lookout for an external speakers system.

Logitech has unveiled its latest external speaker system called the Laptop Speaker Z205. The little speaker is designed for music, movies, and voice calls on laptops and desktop systems. The speaker is small at 1.35" thick and 2.5-inches tall and clips to the top of the notebook.

The little speaker is powered by a USB port so you can use it wherever your travels take you. Buttons on top of the speaker allow you to control volume and turn the speaker on and off. It will be offered in the US and Europe in March for $39.99.
