This stuff is the real deal. Too often, gaming-centred equipment ends up being second-rate hardware shoved inside a fancy body with a few extra keys. Gearlog reports that SteelSeries' new line of gaming equipment is a break away from that unpleasant mold. Their new 6Gv2 keyboard looks as bland and plain as any $10 keyboard.

The bland design is just a front. This keyboard features 18-karat gold-plated mechanical switches and is capable of registering more actions per minute than most keyboards. The cost? $99.99.

SteelSeries also has a new line of headphones out. Their 7H headset fits over your ears and packs a 50 mm driver into each ear cup. They are available for pre-order at Amazon for $119.99. There's also a USB version of the 7H that comes with 7.1 virtual surround sound. It costs $149.99.
