Asus Shows Off New AMD 890GX Mainboard

This is feeling like Asus day so far. The company has gone official with its new AMD 890GX mainboard. The new 890GX chipset was unveiled officially yesterday by AMD and is aimed at the home theater PC fan. The new Asus M4A89GTD PRO also showed up in some reviews yesterday.

The new board supports ATI CrossFireX and Hybrid CrossFireX technology and has SATA 6Gb/s support thanks to the SB850 chipset. The board has two external USB 3.0 ports. The board also has Asus Core Unlocker feature to overclock the CPU automatically for more performance. Other features include Auto Tuning and Turbo Key II.

The board has an integrated GPU Boost Tool to make overclocking the graphics card in the machine a snap. The board is aimed at the enthusiast crowd wanting easy performance increases. Asus offers no pricing or availability information.
