Any day in which I get to use the word 'dongle' is a good day. AT&T has just sent out a press release announcing the imminent launch of two 3G LaptopConnect USB dongles. Dongles. The AT&T USBConnect Turbo comes from LG, and the AT&T USBConnect Velocity hails from Option. These new dongles will be in stores on March 7.

The Velocity is a GPS-enabled dongle with optional location-based applications and a GPS control panel. TeleNav Track LITE and Xora GPS Locator could turn this mild-mannered dongle into an employee tracking device as well. The Turbo is the AT&T dongle to choose for speed. It can handle HSPA 7.2 and packs a microSD slot, which allows it to act as a portable storage unit too.

The Turbo will be free after a mail-in rebate and with a 2-year data contract worth at least $35/month. The Velocity will cost $29.99 after a rebate and with a 2-year contract worth at least $35/month.
