Onkyo TX-SR608 Is World's First 3D Ready THX Certified AV Receiver

Onkyo is s a serious player in the home theater market and among the best brands when it comes to home theater gear. The company has offered up its latest AV receiver called the TX-SR608 with the claim of being the world's first THX certified 3D ready AV receiver. The receivers full name is the Onkyo TX-SR608 3D-ready 7.2-channel THX Select2 Plus AV Receiver.

The receiver has a power amp that uses three-stage inverted Darlington output topology to boost power from 90W to 100W. It also features an Audyssey DSX dimensional sound processor along with Dolby PLIIz capability.

All video sources that come to the receiver, even from the PC input, regardless of resolution are upscaled to 1080p via HDMI and the Faroudja DCDi cinema chip. The receiver also has a front HDMI input. The SR608 will ship in April for $599.
