Someone over at Sky is rather brilliant. Sky has purchased 15,000 3D TVs from LG that it intends to use to show sporting events in local pubs and other places to patrons. Many know the best place to watch the big game is down at the pub.

Sky's devious plan will get patrons and other people used to wearing the 3D glasses and watching 3D programming making them more likely to seek the technology in their own homes as well. Sky will broadcast weekly Premier League matches in 3D starting this spring.

A channel specifically for pubs will be launching soon that will show Premiere League matches and other events. LG has similar deals in place in the US with CBS.
