Earlier this week LG issued a press release that probably had a lot of football fans around the UK pretty excited. The release claimed that Sky was buying 15,000 3D TVs from LG that would be used to show 3D sporting events around the country in pubs and other places.

It seems that someone at LG was mistaken. LG has now come back and said that Sky is not buying 3D TVs from it after all. That is a seriously big mistake on someone's part at LG.

LG now says that it is supporting the 3D channel Sky is setting up to show sporting events and other content and that Sky will help its customers to purchase TVs form LG. The TVs would be purchased directly by the pubs and other locations.
