Buy This Now On Amazon

Christmas and birthday shopping just got a little bit easier. Without so much as a word or a warning, Apple has added a “Gift This App” button to the purchase menu. BGR reports that this new option is only available on the desktop version of the App Store. You just enter the name and email address of the gift-ee, and Apple charges your account.

This isn't as cool as being able to use gift cards in the App Store, but it's a nice change on Apple's part. Now, why on earth didn't Apple release this before the last holiday season? At least it'll be around for the next one.
