Samsung Galaxy S Gets Official

1 GHz smartphone processors are rapidly changing from the ridiculously high-end of the field, to the standard for good handsets. Samsung has sent out a press release announcing the launch of the Galaxy S smartphone. The Galaxy S packs in a 1 GHz processor, 5 MP camera with 720p HD video recording. It also has a front-facing VGA camera, Swype keyboard, HSDPA connectivity, WiFi, GPS, and Bluetooth 2.1.

The Galaxy S has a 4” AMOLED display and runs on Android 2.1. It comes loaded with the Layar browser and can support HD video playback. Altogether, the S looks like a pretty hot little number. Photos courtesy of BGR.
