Today, Sprint has unveiled the developer guide for the HTC Evo to the world.. The guide is pretty boring if you aren't a mobile developer, but it does contain some interesting information. The chapter on HDMI output support confirms that this baby can send out 720p HD video. It also gives us the incredibly awesome picture above.

Engadget is already calling the Evo the 'greatest piece of technology known to man'. That's probably a tad hyperbolic, but there's actually a pretty good case to argue that. I own a Nexus One, and in the last few months I've grown accustomed to not drooling over lesser smartphones.

The Evo gets my salivary glands going though. There's a damn good reason this phone kicked Sprint's stock up. A year ago, we thought that the Palm Pre might be the device to save Sprint. Now it seems like that job may go to the Evo, and Sprint's 4G data network.
