Buy This Now On Amazon

We already talked a bit this week about exactly how Apple is keeping us from getting the iPad even a day early. The company is withholding the customs papers effectively holding the iPads in customs in China. If fact, I received my shipment notification last night showing that my iPad is stuck in the land of no Google.

The iPad is supposed to be here Saturday, assuming that UPS has Saturday delivery in my area. Here is the part that irks me about this whole thing. What if they don’t have delivery in my area? I never pre-order stuff, but I pre-ordered the iPad. If they don’t offer delivery on Saturday in my more rural part of Texas, then I won’t get mine until next week. I could have walked into my Best Buy five minutes from my house on April 3 and walked out with my iPad.

That could mean that many folks that pre-ordered the iPad won’t be getting theirs, especially if you live in a rural area. I know after pre-ordering if mine didn’t get here on the day I could buy it in stores, I would be angry. Another thing that bothers me is that any customer who paid for expedited shipping essentially gave Apple free money. No one will get the iPad before April 3, so why did Apple even after the expedited offering for an extra $13 knowing that it would not ship the devices no matter the method you chose in a manner getting them to users before the third?
