Verizon Wireless has announced an important new feature for the Blackberry Tour smartphone. As of March 30, push to talk was available for the Tour 9630. PTT works on both the Blackberry Internet service and Enterprise Server platforms.

Verizon says that customers can add PTT to their plan by calling or going online to their business center. The application needed to add PTT to the device could be downloaded after signing up for the service.

Verizon is also offering PTT for free for a limited time with a new activation with a qualifying voice and data plan. The PTT service lets you talk with one user or a team of up to 50 at the same time.
