The lucky first few iPad owners this weekend will have a spiffy new productivity tool to organize their lives with. FileMaker, creators of the famous Bento for iPhone app, have just announced that Bento for iPad is now available in the App Store. This revamp is the same as the iPhone app, but optimized to work on the iPad.

With Bento you can manage contacts, plan and organize events, keep track of special dates and even synchronize with Bento on your Mac. Bento for iPad has improved gesture support and works in both portrait and landscape views. Users will be able to view and visit web links in Bento without actually exiting the app.

There are also a load of new themes for Bento on your iPad, including notebook, clipboard, and glass. There are 25 pre-designed templates for things like event planning or dieting or school. The Bento for iPad app costs $4.99 and is available now in the app store.
