IK Multimedia has just sent out a press release announcing the launch of a new app for the iPad. GrooveMaker for iPad contains the same music remixing/looping features as its iPhone ancestor, but has been changed to take advantage of the Pad's massive surface area. This app has large sliders for volume, pan, and master volume. It has 8 controllable loop tracks and tempo, solo, and mute functions on the same screen.

GrooveMaker for iPad promises to deliver more control than ever while dealing with loops. Users can switch snapped grooves with a flick of the finger, or alter on the fly the number of loops combined during a random mix. There are four GrooveMaker packs for the iPad. The free one has 120-loops of house and hip-hop, while the House, Hip-Hop, and Drum & Bass packs cost $9.99 each and have 300 loops.
