TomTom has unveiled a couple new services for governments to offer travelers more information on road conditions. The new features are HD Flow and HD Route Times. The new features are designed to help government agencies better manage traffic flows and to enable them to provide better traffic info to the public.

HD Flow provides real-time highly detailed view of how traffic is flowing on the road network. The information is delivered in European standards of DATEX2/TMC/XML to ensure easy integration into existing systems.

The HD Route Times feature is a solution that provides real-time travel and delay times for all possible routed to allow the government to glean information needed to update the variable messaging signs along certain driving routes. The data provided is updated every few minutes. Initially the new services are available in Germany, the Netherlands, and Switzerland but support for other countries is coming.
