Fans of ultra-light computing (and tablet computing!) are about to have another low-power solution for their heavier processing needs. Fudzilla reports that the Atom D525 will start shipping in Q2. This new processor is a dual-core 1.80 GHz monster. Please note that it only qualifies as a “monster” compared to other Atom/equally low-power processor families.

The D525 is said to support both DDR2 and DDR3 memory, and otherwise looks very similar to the D510 dual core 1.66 GHz processor. The D525 could be out any time from now, to July 1. Hopefully it launches soon and finds its way into a slew of sexy tablets, tablet-books, and ultralight notebooks. MORE POWER!
