It's common knowledge now that many “unlimited” mobile data plans are anything but. Both Verizon and Sprint put artificial 5 GB soft caps on their unlimited 3G plans. Thankfully, Gearlog has confirmation from AT&T's Mark Siegel that the same will not be true of the iPad's unlimited data plan. In his own words “unlimited is unlimited”.

Those could prove to be very costly words for AT&T over the next few years. Alright iPad owners, you heard the man! Browse, stream movies, and download everything that isn't nailed down! You've got AT&T's approval.
